The Sallandsche Specialisten Coöperatie, the investment vehicle of the VSD (a partnership of medical specialists affiliated to the Deventer Hospital) provided growth capital to the medical start-up eNose and thereby acquired a small minority in the share capital of The eNose Company.
Lindenaar & Co acted as financial advisor to the Sallandsche Specialisten Coöperatie. The activities consisted amongst others of preparing a valuation analysis, structuring of the transaction and negotiations regarding the share purchase agreement.

The Sallandsche Specialisten Coöperatie was recently founded by members of the VSD. The Sallandsche Specialisten Coöperatie aims to provide growth capital to promising start-ups that contribute to advances in care and is the first of its kind in the Netherlands. The VSD consists of more than 100 medical specialists, working at the Deventer Hospital. The Deventer Hospital is a medium-sized hospital (€177 million revenue in 2014) providing basic and specialised healthcare for the inhabitants of the region Salland. The hospital is one of the top general hospitals in the Netherlands.

Profile The eNose Company
The eNose Company was founded in 2013 and specialises in developing medical applications of the electric nose. The noses of eNose, the "Aeonose" and "Aetholab" can, based on respectively breath and headspace analysis, detect diseases including tuberculosis, head, neck, and lung cancer. Currently, several hospitals in the Netherlands already use these electric noses, including the Deventer Hospital.
